The Next Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 series might have three new versions with a speedier processor. According to recent web reports,
The rumour surfaced after leaker @kro_roe said on X (previously Twitter) that a third type of the Galaxy Watch 7 might be launched this year, joining the Galaxy Watch 7 Classic and Galaxy Watch 7 Pro. It’s too early to say the new variation, but it might replace Samsung’s earlier square-style design – another rumour flying around.
Since switching back to WearOS, Samsung has introduced two Galaxy Watch models each year, beginning with the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic in 2021. Last year, Samsung released its latest smartwatches, the Galaxy Watch 6 and Galaxy Watch 6 Classic.
Suppose the reports for the third version are correct. In that case, it will join the anticipated Galaxy Watch 7 Classic and Galaxy Watch 7 Pro, marking the first time Samsung has revealed three distinct versions simultaneously.
Along with the rumours about a variant with a square display, @TheGalox_, an X/Twitter leaker, has indicated that the Galaxy Watch 7 series might employ a new Exynos W940 processor, which could supposedly operate 30% quicker than the Exynos W930 used in the Galaxy Watch 6.
This rumour should be considered cautiously because the leaker has a history of making erroneous forecasts. However, if this is right, the next chip might have 50% higher power efficiency, thanks to a 3nm manufacturing technique that Samsung has been developing since 2022.
This adds to this year’s rumours that a big chipset update might be put into the Galaxy Watch 7 series, giving it the strength to compete with smartwatches such as the Xiaomi Watch 2 and the Pixel Watch 2.

When will the Galaxy Watch 7 be released?
Although an official Galaxy Watch 7 announcement is still a ways off, Samsung should unveil its next range of smartwatches during its upcoming Galaxy Unpacked presentation.
We don’t know when or where that event will occur, but it will likely be in July. Last year, on July 26, Samsung held its second Unpacked event, which included the introduction of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5, as well as the Galaxy Watch 6.
A similar lineup is expected for this year’s event, where Samsung is rumoured to unveil the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6. The Galaxy Watch 7 will most certainly join those foldables. If the rumours are accurate, it will be available in three new varieties with the Samsung Galaxy Ring, making it one of the largest Unpacked events in recent years.
